Last year, the New York Knicks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals. This year, they are back and better than ever. 

For example, the Knicks added many key pieces to their roster, one of which is Jordan Clarkston. They also found a new coach in Mike Brown, former head coach of the Cavaliers and, most recently, the Kings. The Knicks have many strong players and great depth. 

Clarkston has won two Sixth Man of the Year Awards and last season he averaged 16.2 points per game. Clarkston is very valuable off the bench because he gives the starters a break. He is a veteran, having been in the league for 10 years, so his experience helps him elevate beyond everybody else. He is also extremely clutch late in the game which is very important in basketball. Furthermore, Clarkston is humble and confident on and off the court which are two very positive traits to possess.

Next, Mike Brown is the new head coach of the New York Knicks and serves as the replacement for Tom Thibodeau. Brown started out as an assistant coach of the Wizards, then the Spurs, learning a lot from mentor Gregg Popovich. Next, he was the head coach of the Cavaliers and led LeBron and the team to the championship. He was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2009. He went on to the Warriors to become their assistant coach and won three championships with them. Later, he turned to Sacramento and became head coach of the Kings. Finally, on July 7, 2025 Brown was named head coach of the New York Knicks. Brown is a very positive addition and has the potential to lead the Knicks to success.

Finally, the Knicks’ roster has a lot of depth. Unlike Thibodeau, Brown will look to play his bench more, making every player valuable. The Knicks have two All-Stars in Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony Towns. They also have OG Anunoby who is very good on defense. The Knicks also have Mikal Bridges who is a very good offensive and defensive player. Josh Hart is very gritty and will hustle and set a positive example. Mitchell Robinson is great on defense as well.

With all that being said, this Knicks team is looking to make their mark and has a great shot at the championship.
