As the Strength & Conditioning coach here at Middletown High School North, I want to share why this course is such a valuable opportunity for our student-athletes.
One of the biggest benefits is being able to train during the school day. That means when the final bell rings, you’re not trying to squeeze in a lift before practice or worrying about finding time for homework afterward. You’ve already done your training in class, which frees you up to focus on your sport and your academics.
Another advantage is the smaller class sizes compared to after-school training. In this setting, we can really focus on your individual needs whether that’s building strength, improving speed, learning proper technique, or just gaining more confidence in the weight room. You get the coaching and attention that helps you grow.
Just as important is the atmosphere. You’re surrounded by classmates who chose this course because they care about fitness and want to get better.
Training alongside like-minded peers creates energy, accountability, and a positive environment where everyone is working toward their goals.
And here’s something many don’t realize: taking Strength & Conditioning fulfills your P.E. requirement. By enrolling in this class, you won’t need to take a standard gym class, you’ll be meeting the requirement while doing something that directly benefits your athletic performance and overall health.
If this sounds like the right fit for you, there’s still time. Talk to your guidance counselor to see if you can switch into the course. I truly believe this class is one of the best ways to improve as an athlete and as a student, and I’d love to see more of you take advantage of it.
Thank You!
