With a mix of seasoned upperclassmen and promising young talent, the Middletown High School North baseball team is gearing up for what could be an exciting 2025 campaign. Head Coach Ryan McCabe returns at the helm, looking to guide the Lions to a successful season with a roster packed with experience and depth.
“We are a competitive team with 4-5 positions up for grabs depending on who is pitching. A lot of kids with experience and a pretty deep roster. Hope to be tough in the division and battle-tested for tournaments with some guys with experience playing and winning big games. We moved into the NJSIAA North Jersey 2 Group 3, so we’ll see some new teams too,” said Coach McCabe.
Middletown North boasts a lineup filled with returning starters (RS) and experienced seniors (R), complemented by underclassmen eager to make an impact. Behind the plate, Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania commit and senior catcher Michael Hallard (RS) provides leadership and stability. Fellow senior Ryan Miller (R) will add depth for the Lions behind the dish.
At first base, seniors Alipio Figueroa (RS), a St. Elizabeth College commit and James Jensen (10) offer a mix of power and versatility. Second base features a strong competition with Aldo Casale (RS), CJ Lorelli (R), Seamus McCabe (R), and Jackson DiNero (11) all vying for time.
The middle infield remains solid, with Louis Romeo (11, R) and MJ Parulis (10) providing strong defense and offensive potential at shortstop. At third base, Senior captain Zach Hampton anchors the hot corner, with Jack Jensen (12, R) and Brady Kernan (11, R) adding depth.
The outfield is stacked with athleticism and versatility. Ian McGoldrick (12, R), James Morello (12), and Dan Sigler (10) will patrol left field, while Ryan Clark (11, RS) and TJ Rey (12, R) handle duties in center. Right field features Gabe Ahlemeyer (12, RS), with underclassmen Matt Byrne (10) and Gavin Plath (10) providing additional options.

Liam Sheehan (10) is a key designated hitter, expected to contribute at multiple positions. Other hitters to watch include Anthony DeLucca (12), Jack Kelly (11), and Luke DiPietro (11), all of whom will play crucial roles in the lineup.
Pitching depth will be a major strength for the Lions this season. Senior Zach Hampton (RHP, University of Maryland, Baltimore County commit) headlines the rotation, bringing power and command to the mound. Fellow seniors Ryan Clark (RHP), Gabe Ahlemeyer (LHP, Roger Williams University commit), Seamus McCabe (RHP), Alipio Figueroa (RHP, St. Elizabeth College commit), and James Morello (LHP) round out a strong group of upperclassmen arms.
Juniors Louis Romeo (RHP), Charlie Juliano (RHP), Rob Cutolo (LHP), and Tucker Lewis (RHP) add further depth, ensuring a steady presence throughout the season. Sophomores Josh Flueckiger (RHP), Gavin Plath (RHP), Matt Byrne (LHP), and James Jensen (LHP) will also be key contributors, developing into future stars for the program.
With a balanced mix of senior leadership, junior depth, and underclassmen potential, Coach McCabe’s squad is poised for a strong run in 2025. The team will look to build on last season’s success, relying on a deep pitching staff and a lineup capable of producing big moments. If the Lions can stay healthy and execute in key situations, they have the potential to make noise in the conference and beyond.
As the first pitch of the season approaches, Middletown North baseball fans have plenty to be excited about. With talent across the board and a determined coaching staff, the Lions are ready to take on the challenge and aim for a championship run in 2025.
