The Middletown North Boys Soccer team had a huge victory on September 23, 2024 with a 2-0 victory over crosstown rival Middletown South on Monday.

Josiah Stepney and Aiden Dinella each scored goals for the Lions, who improved their overall season record to 4-4. The Lions took a 1-0 lead in the first half on Dinella’s goal assisted by Junior Cameron DelGrosso.

In the second half, Stepney’s goal, assisted by Nick Dinella, put the Lions up for good to ensure a victory . Stepney now has 29 career goals and will be looking for number thirty soon. The Lions also saw strong goaltending from keeper Paul Goins who posted eight saves for Middletown North.

The Lions will look to keep momentum going as they head to Lacey for the second round of the Shore Conference Tournament on September 28, 2024 at 10 am.
