Hockey in Middletown hosted the 2nd Annual Pediatric Cancer Awareness Nights benefitting Infinite Love for Kids Fighting Cancer. The nights were created to honor the memory of Middletown Township student Luca Iacono.
Michelle Iacono, Luka’s mother stated “Our son Luca was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma the summer of 2017. He fought to live life and enjoy every day to the fullest for over two years. Until the cancer took over his body and he knew it was time…he took his last breath on November 17, 2019.”
Hockey in Middletown featured crosstown competitors Middletown High School North and South, who came together this year to raise much-needed funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research.
Teams included the Rumson Fair Haven Bulldogs and the Wall Crimson Knights, who have assisted in raising funds for this incredible cause.
Last year, the teams collectively raised an amazing $27,000+ and was able to fully fund a pediatric research grant in Luca’s name.
