Middletown North Swim Team Has Their First Swim Meet of the Season

The Middletown North Swim Team faced Red Bank Regional High School on Monday, December 11.  Even though the team suffered a tough loss, there were many individual accomplishments. Juliana Imbro (10), Olivia Imbro (9), and Madison DiFranco (10) had first-place finishes. Juliana earned first place in the 500-yard freestyle, Olivia in both the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke, and Madison in the 100-yard backstroke.

Not only that, but several swimmers participated in races for the first time. Nina Virani (10) swam the 500-yard freestyle for the first time. Rylee Higgins (9) swam the 200 freestyle for the first time as well. Olivia Robinson (10) swam the 100-yard breaststroke for the first time and exceeded the expectations the coaches had for her! Olivia Imbro swam two new events this meet and won both of them. Ryan Miller (11) swam butterfly for the first time in the relay. Nolan Alba (12) swam his first meet ever! Along with Nolan, Wyatt Boxley (9) swam the 50-yard freestyle for the first time in his first meet ever as well. Bryan Reimertz (12) swam the 100-yard freestyle for the first time as well. Congratulations to these students for stepping out of their comfort zones!

The Middletown North Swim Team earned tons of new best times. Swimmer Lisa Racioppi (11) earned a new best time in the 100-yard butterfly. Emma Gomez (10) went her best time in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-freestyle! Madison DiFranco also dropped time in her 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly. For the boys, Jackson Florio (10) received his best time in the 100-yard breaststroke. Ryan Day (12) dropped time in the 200-yard freestyle. Josh Recinos (11) had huge drops in the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard freestyle!

 A special thanks to managers Giulianna Sottosanti (11), Malena Garnett (10), Emma Wilson (10), Isabella Caruso (10), and Eleanor Best (11) for the huge amount of help they offered the team at their first meet.

Last but not least, congratulations to our new captains, Olivia Zrebric and Ryan Day! The next meet for the Middletown North Swim Team is Tuesday, December 19, at home against Brick Township. Go North!
