Middletown North Softball Routs Ocean 13-0 in NJSIAA Round 1 Matchup
Madilynn Boyce pitched five-innings in the Lions first round matchup of the Central Jersey, Group 3 NJSIAA State Tournament. Boyce led the Lions with a two-hitter performance to lead the No. 3 seed Middletown North to a 13-0 win over No. 14 seed Ocean Township in Middletown.
Boyce struck out 14 batters with three walks for Middletown North (19-5), which will face either sixth-seeded Matawan or 11th-seeded Brick Memorial in the quarterfinals. Adrianna Lisotto went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Hailey Keiser, Amanda Ellison, and Brianna Soto each had two RBI, while Grace Gomez went 2-for-2 with an RBI in the win.
Junior Gabby Welton earned the Middletown High School North Softball NWO belt for her versatility in playing five positions during the Lions 1st round playoff win of the NJSIAA Tournament.
