The Middletown High School North Softball has been one of the most consistent and successful programs over the last ten years in the Shore Conference. The 2023 Lady Lions see this season as no different than the rest. The Lions are currently 10-0, outsourcing their opponents 46-17 during that stretch with 5 shutouts.

The Lions have seen great pitching from Madilynn Boyce who has posted back to back shutouts to go along with back to back victories against crosstown rival Middletown High School South. During Boyce’s final performance against the Eagles, Boyce pitched 8 innings while striking out 16. While pitching, Boyce has racked up 134 strikeouts to accompany her 3 shutouts.

The Lady Lions strong start has led them to a No. 18 ranking in the State of New Jersey by The Star Ledger. The Lions offense is led by Adrianna Lisotto, who leads the team with 13 hits, while sophomore outfielder Hailey Keiser leads the team with 8 runs scored to accompany a home run on the season. Junior outfielder Allie Cirigliano leads the team with 10 runs batted in.

One of Middletown High School North’s most recent victories came this past weekend with the Lady Lions defeating Northern Highlands, 4-0, at the Anthony LaRezz Invitational, held at Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington. Madilynn Boyce tossed a one-hit shutout, striking out 13 and walking one. Boyce, a sophomore, has recorded 10 or more strikeouts in all nine appearances this year and has a state-leading 134 strikeouts on the season and three shutouts.

The Lions who finished last year’s campaign with a 18-11 record, are led this year by a mix of returning players and newcomers.  The team features steller play from a young nucleus and a deep bench.
