On March 19, Middletown High School North softball played in a preseason scrimmage against Toms River South at North’s field.

North came out swinging straight from the first inning. As the second batter, sophomore Ava Turner got a hit in and made it onto first base. Senior Cara McNulty came up next and hit a two-run homer over the right field fence. The girls finished the first inning 2-0.

North only piled on the runs from there. Senior Malori Bell pitched all seven innings. She had numerous strikeouts throughout the scrimmage.

“We’ve been working really hard all winter for this long upcoming season and we’re very excited to get back on the field,” Turner commented.

Come out and support the girls as they finish the rest of the preseason and begin their regular season. The girls are hoping they can get back to states this year, as they have continuously done in previous years.
