As fall sports come to an end, winter sports have now begun.  Swimming is one of those winter sports to look forward to!

Both the boys and girls Swim Teams began practicing during the week of November 19.  The Middletown North Boys Swim Team has high hopes for this season. Rising swimmer freshman Robert Heim looks to have a positive start to his swimming career. Senior Zach Puccia leads as captain in his final ride with the team. Junior captains Aryan Sharma and Jared Chan are also ready to help lead the team to success.

The girls Swim Team is also preparing for the new season, as juniors Natalie Heim and Lauren Sherlock look to lead the team to victory.

When The Lion’s Roar asked Varsity sophomore swimmer Lauren Sherlock about her hopes for the 2018-2019 season, she responded, “This season, I hope for the team to grow as a whole and for everybody to perform to the best of their abilities and improve for next season.”

Varsity sophomore swimmer Matt Sheehan also added his thoughts.  “I hope the team does well and I make new friends this season.”

Both teams practice at the Raritan Bay YMCA in Perth Amboy, New Jersey and leave every day after school around 2:30 PM. The Swim Teams are coached by Mr. Kyle Clayton and Ms. Meghan Ghaffari.

The Swim Teams will have their first meet December 3 against Monmouth Regional High School.  Be sure to come out and show your support!
