The Kortney Rose Foundation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to raising money for research and treatment for Pediatric Brain Tumors.

The foundation was created in memory of a young girl named Kortney Rose. Kortney was a bright, energetic nine-year-old girl when she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in her brainstem. It was a rare tumor that caused Kortney to suffer from seizures and headaches. After numerous treatments, Kortney Rose passed away on April 27, 2006. Kortney’s mom Kristen Gillette founded KRF in honor of Kortney’s spirit.

To this day, the foundation has raised over $1.5 million in support of pediatric brain tumors. Middletown High School North has been one of the supporting schools that has been working with KRF in the effort to raise money and promote awareness. There is an event taking place this Friday at the MHSN Varsity football game. It will be a “Gold Out” in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Student Government students, as well as the Peer Leaders, will be collecting donations at the football game.  Ribbons and buttons will be handed out as well. Make sure to come support Middletown North and the Kortney Rose Foundation this Friday at MHSN.
