The Boys Lacrosse Team Takes Big Steps Toward Success

The last couple of weeks resulted in success for the Middletown North Boys Lacrosse Team.

They started off last week with an away game against Steinert High School. Junior Joe Blackwood led the way with four goals in a dominant 12-3 win.  Next, they played Long Branch who is 1-8 so far this season . Freshman Joey Dam got the shutout In a 15-0 win for Middletown North. On Saturday, April 14, the boys lost a close game to Howell, but they bounced back on Monday as they beat Point Boro 5-1.  This Wednesday, April 18, the boys lost a tough game to CBA 18-0. However, they ended this week with a victory on Saturday, April 21, in a hard-fought game against Neptune Township with a final score of 9-7.

Overall, the Middletown North Boys Lacrosse Team has shown much improvement, as they are now 5-4 so far this season.  This year, the two leading scorers for North have been Junior Quinn Aker, with sixteen goals and twelve assists, and Sophomore Pete Abbes, who has eighteen goals and eleven assists for the season thus far.  Abbes just earned the title of Week 2 Shore Conference Player of the Week.

Come out and support the team this season as they make their way toward the Shore Conference Tournament.  Their next game is April 23 against Toms River East. We hope to see you there!
