Middletown North’s Lady Lions gained a victory over Middletown South at the girls varsity basketball game last night held at South. The game kept everyone at the edge of their seats from quarter to quarter as the scoreboard went back and forth. As the end of third quarter approached, North made three consecutive baskets setting up a competitive 4th quarter. South players knew it would be hard to come back, but gave it their all while North kept up their offense.

The game ended with a 29-25 score. Senior Kiera Williams tallied 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 6 steals from South. Senior Caleigh McAnuff nailed a 3-pointer with 1:30 left in the game, and had 6 points in total.  Freshman Victoria Palladino and junior Melissa Golembieski were key defenders in the win.
