Middletown North Field Hockey Looking to Keep Season Going
Lady Lions Looking for NJSIAA Playoff Victory Today Versus Long Branch
The Middletown North Field Hockey team has been having a great 2017 season with a 14-7 record and a spot as the number 6 seed in the NJSIAA State Playoffs. With thirteen seniors graduated, including key players from their 2016 season, the Lions have not disappointed. With the dedication of Coach Devan Crimi and key returners, (Emily Cahill, Lexi Banta, Amanda Hallard and Sarah Wilkie) the girls have worked hard to win some tough and vital games this year. Key victories of the season included wins against Freehold Borough, Middletown South, and Howell.
A big part of the girls’ success is due to the support and achievements of the team’s captains, (Emily Cahill, Lexi Banta, and Amanda Hallard) racking up over 25 goals combined. Midfielder Lexi Banta and goalie Jacey Tammaro were voted Shore Conference Players of the Week back to back weeks. The team will face Long Branch High School, the number 3 seed, this Friday October 27th in the second round of state playoffs. The Lady Lions hope to finish the season strong with a state sectional division title.
