Despite the cry of many short-clad teenagers, school has befallen us once again. Many sleepless nights and beach days have left the students of Middletown North unprepared for the 2024-2025 school year. School supplies are not the only essential that students need before the school year begins. A change in mindset is necessary as well. This guide serves as a helpful tool to ensure that your school year starts off strong and continues that way until summer finds us once again.
1. Dress the Part
While bathing suits and flip flops are hard to exchange for jeans and sweaters, dressing the part for school can drastically aid in an academic mindset. It is proven that by dressing more professionally, students will do better on tests and in school in general. In addition, dressing in fall clothing keeps students focused on the prospering future, rather than summer memories.
2. Maintain a School Life Balance
Despite what many think, school starting up again does not mean that your social life has to disappear. Going to Friday night football games, participating in clubs and playing sports are all social outings that school provides. Studying with peers at Barnes and Noble or Panera is also a way to hang out with your friends while ensuring that your academics maintain their position.
3. Prioritize Sleep
One of the hardest switches from summer to fall is the drastic change in sleep schedule. 7:25 AM seems to be like dawn. However, going to bed at a reasonable hour certainly helps me get out of bed in the morning. It’s unrealistic to expect to get 8-10 hours of sleep each night, but striving to get at least 7 hours will definitely boost students’ energy.
The change from summer to fall is always one of the hardest, but hopefully with this guide it’ll be a little easier.
