Mrs. Mahoney and the Middletown North Drama Club are preparing for their performance of Anything Goes and rehearsals have already begun.

Originally written in the 1934 by Cole Porter, the musical is set aboard the S.S. American that is headed from New York to London. The plot consists of an exciting love triangle through which friends join forces in order to help a man win the heart of his love.

Some of the star roles will be Sir Evelyn Oakleigh played by senior Tyler Davis, Hope Harcourt played by sophomore Lily Richichi and Elisha J. Whitney played by junior Jasper Nelson.  The full cast and crew are working hard in order to make this play a success.

“The drama club is working super hard on this,” senior cast member Krista Reilly told The Lion’s Roar. “Rehearsals are in full-swing, and from the way that they are going, the show is very promising.”

The performances for Anything Goes will be held March 23 at 7 p.m. and March 24 at 2 p.m.  This musical will follow the performance of A Christmas Carol, which set the standards high and was viewed as an enormous success. Be sure to come out and support your classmates and peers in their performance of Anything Goes!
