French Honor Society Celebrates National French Week

Middletown High School North’s French Honor Society is celebrating National French Week from November 13th to 17th in appreciation of French, a global language. Multiple fundraisers will be held throughout the week to aid the French Honors Society.

To start, beginning on Monday, students and faculty can participate in a GooseChase competition, where one can play against other teams to complete as many French related missions as possible before time runs out.

You can also a purchase a lock message for a friend just like the lock bridge in Paris! Locks can be purchased for only $2 during blocks 3 and 4, Monday through Thursday. Messages will be added to the “Pont de North,” and will be sold outside of the library, main office, and cafeteria.

The French Honor Society is also holding a French cheese tasting Thursday, November 16th, after school in the cafeteria and will be catered by The Cheese Cave. Tickets are being sold at $10 and must be purchased by Tuesday, November 14th. You can see Madame Jones in Room 1406 or a French Honor Society member for buying a ticket.

If you’re still in the mood for some French food, you can visit Whipped, a creperie and dessert bar located at 6 Monmouth St., Red Bank for some delicious French crepes and other treats. If you show a flyer on behalf of the FHS, a percentage of all proceeds will go aid the Honor Society. You can see Madame Jones for a flyer.

Be sure to participate and be active in the fun activities planned by the French Honor Society and support the French department!
