The following information is to provide the Middletown North community with information pertaining to 2024 Final exam exemptions:
Any senior with a Y1 average of a 90 or above in a full year course on June 7 is exempt from the final exam. Any student, regardless of grade level or Y1 average who took the AP exam associated with the course is exempt from the AP course final exam.
Teachers need to issue the students who fall into the two categories above an EX (exempt) for the final exam.
Final exam attendance:
If a student is exempt from the final exam and can provide their own transportation to/from school, the student does not have to come in for the exempt final exam time. When this is the case, the teacher is to mark the students’ attendance as an EE (exam exemption) and this will not negatively impact the student’s attendance record.
Final exams as it relates to vocational students:
**MCVSD has full days of school through June 18. Vocational students are encouraged to attend their vocational programs during our final exam dates. The MHSN staff needs to work with our vocational students on an individual alternate final exam schedule, which may include teachers administering finals during the week before, the days after or break up the exam over multiple days for our AM and PM voc students.
