Middletown High School North’s first installment of Autism Awareness Friday is underway. During the month of April, all members of the Middletown High School North community are encouraged to support this important cause by wearing a blue shirt and jeans.
According to www.autismspeaks.org, “Every April Autism Speaks celebrates World Autism Month, beginning with the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. This year marks the 17th annual World Autism Awareness Day.”
Throughout the month of April, Autism Speaks focuses on “sharing stories and providing opportunities to increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism and fostering worldwide support.”
This year, Middletown High School North has added this new recognition month activity to promote awareness and shed light on Awareness Day.
