Living in Valenda, Evangeline Fox’s life swiftly turns upside down when the love of her life is engaged to her step sister. There are lengths as to which Evangeline will go to in order to find her happily ever after. In the process, she makes a deal with the cunningly cruel and handsome Jacks, the Prince of Hearts, in hopes to stop the wedding. Evangeline soon realizes that striking a bargain with Jacks might have been a very dangerous game to play. Fates always have an agenda and are never to be trusted. This one has a plan for Evangeline as their destinies inevitably become intertwined. 

This fantasy book is a recipe full of romance, action, vibrant magic, with a dash of mystery. The writing was beautifully detailed and really encapsulates the fairy tale theme, although there are many obstacles ahead for Evangeline. There aren’t any cons about this book other than the difficulty of reading in third person, granted that the novel does flow better that way. This book is perfect for someone who enjoys being swept away into a different world. I would ultimately rate this a 9/10.
