The French Honors Society is hosting a fundraiser selling Gertrude Hawk Chocolate through December 19th. The proceeds collected will go towards the club’s needs such as graduation cords, and supplies to host the Tournoi Lion, which is a competition being hosted by this organization in March of 2024.
Students can perform singing, skits, presentations, poems and more in the french language. Also, a portion of the money raised will be donated to the Adopt-A Family organization to help support Middletown families this holiday season.
This coming January, the French Honors Society will be inducting 15 new students along with the other fellow language students (Italian, Spanish, and Latin). Becoming a part of this club is quite a privilege. In order to be admitted to the FHS, students must attain a grade of 90% or higher in their French class.
The aim of the French National Honor Society is to restore interest in the study of French, to promote high standards of scholarship, to reward academic achievements, to form understanding of Francophone cultures, and to establish international friendships.
Along with the Tournoi Lion, the society is hosting this year, they will also be going on a trip to, Taste and Technique, in Fair Haven, NJ where the group will be taking a French cooking class this January. The French Honors Society will also be hosting French Week, later in the year for North as a whole.
Experiencing and learning about different cultures is very important to do as young adolescents, the FHS will allow you to do so on another level! If you are a current freshman, it’s not too late to join French and eventually become a member of this honorable organization!
