The Environmental Science Club offered at Middletown High School North is a fun, important, and interactive community to be a part of! It is a great way to make a difference and educate yourself on climate issues, the Earth, animal safety, and more! With our collaborative meetings and creative minds, we have been able to curate and construct amazing plans to better the environment. 

One way we have begun to take action is to promote and participate in local beach sweeps! The Non-profit organization CleanOceanAction held many beach clean-ups in New Jersey, local to Middletown High school North. Many of our environmental club members were able to attend and help out!

Another way we are bettering our town and environment is with our biggest plan for the year, a community tree planting event! Our goal is to plant 189 saplings all around Middletown in order to make up for our paper usage! This is a wonderful hands-on activity that can be done with friends and family to improve your imprint on Earth. Each tree sapling only costs five dollars and is able to be purchased until March thirtieth. Once we find homes for all the saplings, we’ll go out and plant them with other members of the club! Every meeting we establish new plans for the future such as business partnering, fundraisers, and more! One example of a fundraiser we held for the club was when we teamed up with Chick-fil-A. Fifteen percent of each order, that mentioned the MHSN Environmental Science Club, was donated to the club itself. With this money, we’ll be able to put it towards our future plans for bettering the Earth.

The Environmental Science Club is a welcoming and determined community to participate in.  Our club listens to what each and every member has to say and allows everyone to participate in interactive and inclusive activities. Joining will give you a sense of community, friendship, and determination to make Middletown Highschool North, and Middletown as a whole, more environmentally friendly.
