Since the Grand Opening that took place on April 1 of this year, Chick-fil-A of Hazlet was  the 48th location in New Jersey to open in the Garden State.  When you think of that many stores being open, the fear is that quality and consistency could be lost.  However, Chick-fil-A of Hazlet is top notch in both categories.  Even with lines of cars wrapped around the Cinemark Movie Theatre, the service is efficient and timely.

The Chick-Fil-A of Hazlet is located at 2819 Route 35  (in the Costco plaza) and provides a fast food service with a high quality feel.  The restaurant is open for drive-thru customers and pick-up , while also giving customers the opportunity to use contactless ordering and payment through Chick-fil-A’s mobile app to combat the struggles of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Lion’s Roar did a food testing during the week of December 27 and wanted to share our feedback with the Middletown High School North population. Below you will see each item listed along with our “Roar Score”, which is based on a scale of 1 to 10.

Item #1: Chick-fil-A’s grilled chicken cool wrap (ROAR SCORE-7.2/10)

Sliced grilled chicken breast nestled in a fresh mix of green leaf lettuce with a blend of shredded Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, tightly rolled in a flaxseed flour flat bread. Made fresh daily. Pairs well with Avocado Lime Ranch dressing.

Item #2: Chick-fil-A’s spicy deluxe sandwich (ROAR SCORE-8.4/10)

A boneless breast of chicken seasoned with a spicy blend of peppers, freshly breaded, pressure cooked in 100% refined peanut oil and served on a toasted, buttered bun with dill pickle chips. Also available on a multigrain bun.

Item #3: Chick-fil-A’s grilled market salad (ROAR SCORE-6.8/10)

Sliced grilled chicken breast served on a fresh bed of mixed greens, topped with crumbled blue cheese and a mix of red and green apples, strawberries and blueberries. Made fresh daily. Served with Harvest Nut Granola and Roasted Almonds. Pairs well with Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette.

Item #4: Chick-fil-A deluxe sandwich (ROAR SCORE-8.3/10)

A boneless breast of chicken seasoned to perfection, freshly breaded, pressure cooked in 100% refined peanut oil and served on a toasted, buttered bun with dill pickle chips, green leaf lettuce, tomato and American cheese. Also available on a multigrain bun.

Item #5: Chick-fil-A’s grilled nuggets (ROAR SCORE-5.8/10)

Bite-sized pieces of freshly marinated boneless breast of chicken, grilled for a tender and juicy backyard-smoky taste. Available with guest’s choice of dipping sauce.

Item #6: Waffle Fries (ROAR SCORE-9.2/10)

Waffle-cut potatoes cooked in canola oil until crispy outside and tender inside. Sprinkled with Sea Salt.

Item #7: Chicken Noodle Soup (ROAR SCORE-6.4/10)

Shredded Chick-fil-A® chicken breast, chopped carrots and celery with egg noodles in a hearty broth. Served with Saltine crackers.
