On February 6,  Mr. Scala’s US History Honors classes will be conducting the annual Voter Registration Drive for Middletown High School North.  During the time period of 7:30 AM-9:00 AM, Middletown North student interns from the League of Women Voters Program will be coming to each junior and senior class for roughly five minutes to have students register to vote.  Mr. Scala’s classes have been conducting this drive with the assistance of Barbara Chaudhery of the League of Women Voters since 2008.  This program offers students the opportunity to register to vote and get involved in increasing their political awareness.  According to their website (https://www.lwv.org) The League of Women Voters is nonpartisan organization that is a recognized force in molding political leaders, shaping public policy and promoting informed citizen participation at all levels of government.  Accorsing to Mr. Scala, “This is a wonderful opportunity to allow our students to be proactive in obtaining their voter registration cards.  Rather than waiting until it is close to an election, this drive allows students to register now so that they are given every opportunity to vote and make a difference”.

*If any student is absent on the day of the voter registration drive, they can go to room 2115 and receive a copy of the form to fill out.
