Middletown, NJ- Is that Big Foot? Is that the Geico Cave Man? Nope, it is probably just some of the male teachers at Middletown High School North whom will be participating in the “No-Shave November” Campaign during the month of November hosted by Student Government. Every year, Middletown High School North has 6 male teachers volunteer for the cancer awareness program in which they shave their faces completely on November 1 and cannot shave until Thanksgiving.

According to https://no-shave.org/,The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle”.

The campaign at Middletown High School North will stretch for three weeks with two teachers being eliminated each week leading up to the final two. This year students will vote each week based on coin donations made during their lunch blocks 3 and 4.  Whichever two teachers receive the least coins donated in their name each week will be eliminated and may shave.  This year’s contestants are: John Bogosion, Matt Sirchio, Jon Scala, Doug Felegy, Brett Alberici and John Kerrigan.
