MHSN Drama Club Prepares The Stage For “A Christmas Carol”

Last Tuesday and Wednesday, the Middletown North drama club held auditions to fill the roles for their upcoming fall play, A Christmas Carol  in the school’s auditorium.

“The audition process is very tedious, but exciting,” veteran crew member Krista Reilly told the Lion’s Roar. At the first meeting, those interested in auditioning for the play receive a packet of material to prepare for their goal character. On the selected audition day, one auditioning must act out various scenes that only the director decides. It can go from an hour to as much as three hours.

“You can expect to be blown away with the set,” Reilly said. “Our crew is working exceptionally hard to be able to create different distinct scenes, rather than just one.” The play, which examines different stages of the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge’s, life, and to encapture these differing points, the sets on stage must be differentiating.

A Christmas Carol will be premiering in the Middletown North auditorium on Friday, December 1st, and Saturday, December 2nd, with $8 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students. Be sure to support the drama club and come out to see A Christmas Carol!
