Middletown North’s former Juniors are back for the fall and opened up the first Monday of the year with a new Senior Council committee meeting- discussing upcoming events, fundraising opportunities and, of course, prom!

North’s Ms. Macaro and Ms. Ghaffari hosted the get-together in room 2405 this past Monday, to discuss the appointing of new cabinet members among which include the option to elect a new President and Vice President, currently occupied by Caroline Fabiano and Colette Lichtenstein.

The primary event of discussion for Senior Council’s meeting was planning and fundraising through Haunted Woods and deciding what the terrifying theme for this year will be. The event, as always, will be hosted around Halloween, this year planned for October 21, weather permitting.

Twitter Polls took a vote and 54% of students who voted did so for an American Horror Story themed trail, and after asking several students their opinions, it seems that the most common answer was: “It would be so much scarier than horror movies.”

It is stressed that Seniors in the club participate in scaring their peers and anyone else they can spread the word to to make this event as thrilling as possible. Gather around with family and friends to get the scare of a lifetime from your own peers.

The Homecoming game will be held this year October 13 with Middletown North’s festive homecoming dance following sometime in the weeks after it, the date to still be determined.

Senior Council, in order to raise money for their prom, is also going to be selling MHSN socks for $12 in room 2405. Along with this there are going to be several fundraisers at sponsoring restaurants upcoming including Chipotle and possibly Surf Taco.

According to the council leaders, it is “crucial” to raise money in order to have the prom that all of the students are looking forward to.
