Senior Assembly

Amber Bayham, Staff Writer

If you are a senior who has attended the yearly assembly reminding students of the rules and regulations of Middletown High School North, then you are aware of the newest rules in effect starting this year.

One that seems to be catching the most attention from students is the renewed regulation of the lanyards and school identification. Though it may seem like a useless rule to some, one can recognize the significance of wearing them for purely safety purposes. Plus, clubs, such as the school newspaper, can sell special pins to make wearing lanyards less of a chore.

Another rule that has caught some special attention is the ban against food and drinks coming into the building, especially when one is coming into the building after 7:36 AM. Again, though some may find this useless, it will be one less annoyance for both the staff on security and the janitors.

The biggest rule, mostly applying to seniors and some juniors, is the new parking regulation. Many have complained that it is unjust that the regulation is affected by the food and drink rule, but truly it is just a cause-and-effect rule that can easily be avoided when the right precautions are taken.
