After much speculation and rumor, Hillary Clinton announced that she will be running for president in the 2016 presidential race.
The announcement came shortly after Mrs. Clinton’s campaign chairman told longtime associates and partners that Hillary Clinton is back and ready to win the presidential election that she lost several years ago.
“Every day Americans need a champion. And I want to be that champion”, stated Mrs. Clinton in her announcement video. “It’s your time, and I hope you’ll join me on this journey”.
This came as a big announcement for Democrats, as they have not had many nominees come forward to declare they would be running in the upcoming election. With Republicans having numerous candidates such as Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, Mark Everson, Mike Huckabee, Rand Paul, and several others, many people believe that, with Mrs. Clinton’s announcement alone, the Democrats already have a front runner.
Mrs. Clinton plans to take on this presidential race differently than she did with her previous attempt. She plans on shower her true colors and addressing the issues that she feels are the most important within this nation, such as equal pay for women, gender equality, and much, much more that she did not address too much in her 2008 campaign.
However, with all of the excitement, many were still addressing the issue of Mrs. Clinton using her private email address within the state department and having two emails in the first place. This caused mass controversy several months ago.
With the election coming closer and closer, additional candidates will continue to emerge from both sides. Hillary plans to stay in the limelight for the entire race and is aiming for the goal of becoming the United States first female president, a goal that is quite possible if the coming months go as planned.
