Grab your four-leaf clovers, avoid black cats, and don’t go to Camp Crystal Lake; unluckily for us, it looks like we’re going to have two Friday the Thirteenths this year!
An unusual event, we’re usually used to going crazy watching scary movies and avoiding walking under ladders for one day. However, it seems like this year, we’ll have to play it safe for an extra day.
Friday the 13th is a world-known superstition, and one that’s been infamous for centuries. Why we don’t follow other superstitions from around the world, like avoiding chewing gum at night so it doesn’t turn into the flesh of the dead (originating from Turkey) and giving birth before the unlucky Year of the Sheep (originating from China,) we may never know. But, for now, making sure not to schedule any special dates or meetings on Friday the 13th will always linger over America’s shoulders.
And whether it survives time or not is yet to be seen.
