On January 26th 2015, the Skate and Surf Festival added more acts to the bill. Skate and Surf is taking placing Saturday May 16th and Sunday May 17th at Asbury Park Oceanfront.

Headlining the show is hometown band The Gaslight Anthem, they were just added to the bill on January 25th and have a ton of people talking about the festival now.

Also playing at this years Skate and Surf that many are looking forward to seeing are “The Dropkick Murphys”, “The Wonder Years”, “The Story so Far”, “Four Year Strong”, “Chunk! No Captain Chunk!”,”Modern Baseball”, “Head North”, and “Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties”.

The music played at the Skate and Surf Festival is very similar to what is played at Warped Tour, however with a little more emphasis on Pop-Punk music. Many are very excited to go to this festival this year and The Lions Roar will be sure to update you on the latest coming from the festival.

Greg Scharen is a senior at Middletown High School North. Greg has written for the paper since freshman year and is the Co-Editor-in-Chief this year. Greg is looking to continue studying journalism in college and eventually become a journalist after schooling. Greg wants to inform the everyday citizen about what is happening in the community they live in. Away from the paper Greg participates in both seasons of track for the school. Other hobbies include playing guitar, learning more about new music, reading comics and fantasy novels, and playing video games. Greg is a huge fan of the DC Universe and the world of Middle-Earth from Lord of the Rings.
