High School North’s Fall play will debut on November 21st, and the drama club has begun preparation for the show. Auditions have already taken place, and the cast and storyline of the play has been announced.
This years play will be Moon Over Buffalo, a comedic rendition of the well known play Lend Me a Tenor. Written by Ken Ludwig, the play takes place in the 1950s. The main characters, George and Charlotte Hay, are fading stars who are given one last chance to regain their stardom. Frank Capra, a film director, decides to attend a matinee of George and Charlotte’s Private Lives and Cyrano de Bergerac, in search for actors to cast in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. The play takes a comedic turn when George and Charlotte’s matinee goes terribly wrong, thanks to a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiancé and confusion regarding which play the actors will even be performing.
George and Charlotte Clay, the married couple in their fifties and leading characters of the play, will be played by Vincent Ferrara (George) and Lucy Bent (Charlotte). Gabby Longo will be acting in the role of Charlotte’s deaf mother Ethel, who becomes a bit of an instigator within the play. Rosalind, the couple’s daughter, and her nervous husband Howard, will be played by Justine Cataneo( Rosalind) and Michael Buck( Howard). Gabby Montanez and Guy Rose both will be playing actors who work alongside George and Charlotte to impress Frank Capra. Brian Lindner, Macy Walsh, and Kyle Kennedy will all be acting as soldiers within the play, while senior Michael DiVilio will be starred as a man named Le Bret. To finish off the cast of Moon Over Buffalo, Will Forguignon will be acting as DeGuiche, and Dan Enoch as Richard.
The drama club works diligently to ensure the quality of their plays each year, and their hard work is evident in their productions. Be sure to come support High School North and the drama club by attending Moon Over Buffalo at North’s theater on November 20th-22th.
