The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Trailer Review

Greg Scharen, Staff Writer

This past summer Lord of the Rings fans were treated to an amazing trailer; previewing the final installment in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies. The movie will be available to see in theaters December 17th.

The trailer is filled with amazing shots and truly looks to be the best movie in the trilogy. Here is a link to the official trailer

The main thing I got out of the trailer is the major role Bard the Bowman will play. In the trailer you see Bard pleading with Thorin, King of the Dwarves, not to go to war. He also appears in  the trailer to be leading an army we will have to see which army he is in fact leading.

Another key point in the trailer is seeing Smaug The Dragon completely destroy Laketown. Will the dragon be destroyed in the film?

My final point I would like to make about the trailer is the lack of our main hero Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo is seen in the very beginning of the trailer and the very end. This leads me to think that Peter Jackson really wants to keep Bilbo’s role in the movie quite.

I’m very excited to see the movie and will have a follow up story about the movie once it is out in theatres December 17th.
