This past Tuesday I had the pleasure of seeing the brand new Godzilla movie remake. I was hesitant to see the film at first since everyone that I had talked to said that it really wasn’t that good.
However, when I saw the movie that idea was gone from my mind. The tremendous monster movie was fantastic. What made me love the movie so much was the suspense that director Gareth Edwards made around showing Godzilla. You don’t see the King of Monsters until about an hour into the movie. However, once you do finally see him, all the frustration behind his absence from the first hour of the film is gone and is replaced with pure excitement.
Another thing I really enjoyed about the film was the ending scene. Everything that I thought and expected from a Godzilla movie happened and more happened within at least the last half hour of the film.
However, one downfall to the film was Brian Cranston’s character. He becomes obsessed over a disaster that fell upon him in the past and it got way to annoying by the middle of the movie watching him go insane.
Overall I loved the movie and give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.
