Last week, North and South came together to put on a benefit performance in order to support the extreme situations of the Philippines from the typhoon that struck in November. Both schools had a number of bands perform with songs ranging from Fall Out Boy to Frank Sinatra. The event included food from numerous supporters of the cause including Sugar Rush, Outback, and Starbucks.
Hosted by The Lion’s Roar’s own Anthony Martino and the leading lady for South’s upcoming spring musical “Evita”, Kelly Lozo, the night kicked off with a startling karate display complete with kicking through wood and leaping over students. It ended with a performance of “You Make Me Feel So Young” and “Luck Be A Lady” that made everyone swoon.
Some of the other highlights included a performance from the popular Bomberos who performed songs including “Still Into You” and “Highway To Hell”. Another North based group was Ardvark Smile who had jaws dropping at their stellar vocals and talent.
All in all, the show was a great success for a great cause and a way for the two high schools to come together.
