Within the past few weeks, the Academy Awards 2014 nominations have been announced. While all the awards have their importance, most come as no surprise.
The biggest award, Best Picture, include the nominees of American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, Gravity, Her, Nebraska, Philomena, and the heartbreaking, 12 Years a Slave. All of the nominees have been nominated for outstanding plots, writing and acting and additional film aspects. However, most media outlets are predicting that it will be ‘American Hustle’ that takes this particular prize.
Other notable nominees include the popular Jennifer Lawrence for ‘American Hustle’, her third Oscar nomination (after she won last year for Silver Linings Playbook) for best Actress. Along with the beloved “Let It Go” from the new hit Disney movie ‘Frozen’ for best original song in a film. Leonardo DiCaprio is also nominated once again for Best Actor in a Leading Role in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ and as his constant nominations and lack of winnings have become much of a joke on the internet, fans will be interested to see how it all plays out for the beloved actor.
The 86th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 2nd.
