Last Friday, January 24th, Skate and Surf’s twitter page (@SkateandSurf) announced that this years Skate and Surf festival would be located at the Middletown Sports Complex: Pool Club and Ice Arena. This location was rumored as the venue since the ice rink was under construction this past summer.
The festival is being held on Saturday May 17th and Sunday May 18th. Weekend passes are going on sale Tuesday February 18th at 3pm. Single day passes are on sale Friday March 14th at noon.
Last year, Skate and Surf was located at Six Flags in Jackson. The event was headlined by Fall Out Boy and A Day to Remember, two very famous bands. Others acts included Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Mayday Parade, and Hopsin. Middletown should expect to see the same caliber of musicians and acts. They should have one or two big bands/artist, in addition to other sorts of acts on the rise.
The only thing that Middletown has to worry about with Skate and Surf festival is a location change. Last year the festival was suppose to be in a small suburban area like Middletown. However, due to an increase of ticket sales, they had to move the show to Six Flags, leaving a small town venue behind. Hopefully, this should not happen to Middletown and its residents should be able to enjoy a great show right here at home.
