Thanksgiving Day has finally arrived and Middletown has been bustling with family get-togethers and traditions. This year, we asked five students from Middletown North what they were doing on this annual holiday. With options ranging from attending the annual North vs. South football game, spending quality time with family members, or preparing for Fridays Homecoming dance, the possibilities seemed endless for these Middletown Lions.
Phil Murator:
For the past several years, Phil has gone to the North vs. South football game and played in the band. As a senior, this will be his last year in Middletown North’s Orange Wave Marching Band and his second year conducting the field show as Drum Major. After the game, Phil plans to go home, rest up from the long, cold day and eat a nice Thanksgiving dinner with his family.
Jordan Conway:
Jordan also is attending the annual football game as the captain of Middletown North’s Color-guard. She then plans to go home and sleep until the rest of her family comes over her house, where she will enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner. For the first time ever, Jordon plans to go Black Friday Shopping as well, something that is particularly new to her in particular.
Hannah Lafargue:
This year, Hannah is continuing her tradition of playing in Middletown North’s Marching band at the annual football game. Following this, she is immediately driving an hour away to visit her cousins house and spend Thanksgiving dinner with them.
Dan Sarafian:
Dan is one of several North students who doesn’t have a plan for Thanksgiving yet. He says, “I’m not really one set on traditions, it’s more of a surprise every year.” He will, however, be attending the North vs. South game and will be preparing for the homecoming dance, which is the following night.
Faith D’Alessandro:
Faith usually travels to her aunt’s house in Brooklyn, New York or to her other aunt’s house in Red Bank and spends Thanksgiving there. She spends time with her entire family and enjoys eating the giant dinner that she says, “is always delicious”.
Students from Middletown North certainly have many activities planned for this holiday and hopefully everyone will be able to create memories that will last a lifetime.
Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at The Lions Roar.
