On October 15, 2013, Paul McCartney released his new studio album which is titled, “New.” This is his sixteenth studio album, and the first he has released since “Memory Almost Full,” in 2007. The album was executive produced by Glen Martin. Paul McCartney said, “The album would be very varied, I worked with four different producers who each brought something different.” The album is actually very good, especially since it was released by a man who is 71 years old, and has been singing, playing, and writing music for various bands since the 1950’s. He even wrote the song “Live and Let Die,” for the 1973 James Bond movie, also titled “Live and Let Die.”
The album is highlighted by songs like “New,” “Queenie Eye,” and “ Save us.” All good songs. Before listening to this album, I did not believe it would be as impressive as the rest of the albums that Paul McCartney has released during his solo career. After listening to the album, I was very impressed by the work McCartney put out. His voice has not changed at all from his Beatles days and his Paul McCartney and Wings days to now. I thought that he would have sounded very old and dried out. McCartney proved me wrong! I would recommend this album to any Beatles fan, Wings fan, Paul McCartney fan, or just any classic rock fan. I think that his song “New,” is almost as good as “Live and Let Die,” and “Band on the Run.” This is a great album and I believe that this one of his best albums.
