Middletown North (1-4) defeated Marlboro (0-5) this saturday to put them in the win column and give coach Steve Bush his first win with the Lions. Lions freshman quarterback Donald Glenn had a huge game going 11-16 with a career high 261 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Glenn was a player of the week nominee in the shore sports network player polls. Junior widout Jordan Pitts had 97 receiving yards and 2 touchdown catches. Senior receivers Jake Betkowski and Brandon Dura each had a touchdown catch in saturdays victory also. On the ground Sophomore running back Chad Freshnock rushed for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Lions have had a brutal schedule this season. Hardest schedule in the shore conference playing teams with a combined record of 19-3 and have another tough task this week as they take on South Brunswick (4-2) this Friday night 7pm at South Brunswick. South Brunswick just like the Lions are coming off a blowout victory over J.P. Stevens 42-7. This week is big for the Lions as a victory could shuffle things up in the A-North as they are now in contention for 4th place within the division. A Lions victory and a Howell loss can tie them for 4th place in the A-North division.
