Yesterday, October 8th, A Day to Remember’s long awaited album Common Courtesy was released. This album took every fiber in the bands body to produce and maybe their best album to date.
The album has thirteen different tracks which vary in different genres from pop-punk, to hardcore, to acoustic. The album is really interesting in the way when some songs end, you hear the band talk about the song and give their feedback. It’s cool to see what the band thought collectively of the track.
This album really is for any fan of rock music, girls will love the acoustic songs, guys who love hardcore will obviously love this due to the heavy mobile casino songs, while the pop-punk songs will go over to both sides.
Some of my favorite songs on the album are Dead and Buried, I Remember, Violence ( Enough is Enough ). The first song on the album City of Ocala, got me scared because it wasn”t a very good start. However, right after the first song the album gets going and is really good from there on out.
This album is really based about the legal battle between A Day to Remember against Victory Records, this is really shown in the song The Document Speaks For Itself.
The album was originally to be released at the start of 2012, but do to the dispute between the band and their record company Victory Records, Common Courtesy was only allowed to be released the 8th. The dispute between the two sides went all the way to the to a judge who ruled in favor of the band and let them release their album independently.
