For two weeks from May 6th to 17th the daily life at Middletown North changed drastically. With guidance even more hectic than usual, the library completely closed, and juniors and seniors missing class and leaving and arriving to school at odd times, the characteristics of Ap Exams became the norm. Advanced Placement Exams, The culmination of months of studying and a collective year of course material are all on the line. The difference between college credit and a wasted $87 can be just a few multiple choice questions. This high pressure situation is always extremely stressful.
However, now that it is over, a sigh of relief has replaced anxiety from students, teachers, and administrators alike. AP classes, which make up the bulk of many Juniors and Seniors class schedules, their academic school year rapidly came to an end.
With the school year being unusually long with the last day June 25th, there is one thing for certain that the last month and a half of school will be slow and boring. As work slows in preparation for the end of the school year, all students will experience deep frustration. Just as AP exams are a way point that signifies a school year coming to a close, it also signifies the beginning of a new phase of school. The heat of the approaching summer coupled with a radically different school environment has ushered in the final phase of the school year.
