Block scheduling has affected everything at Middletown High School North, from the obvious, our day-to-day schedule, lunch, teachers’ attitudes, and after school activities. Unfortunately, block scheduling has also affected class trips. The window of uncertainty that surrounds block scheduling led administrative officials to block teachers from submitting field trip recommendations.
Thankfully, for all those in North, this window of uncertainty was short. The window in which school trips submissions were blocked encompassed the end of last year and the entire summer, during which time school trips online casino australia for the fall and early winter need to be approved. Many of the schools most popular and substantial field trips occur during these autumn months. Including, and not limited to, the AP United States Histories famous Boston/Plymouth trip.
This tremendous trip, which I was lucky enough to have partaken in, will not take place this year. Yet, there could still be some hope. When I spoke with Mrs. Hill while researching this issue, she expressed her opinion and said she was “disappointed,” however she was hopeful for the spring and that her Washington DC trip would be approved. Now that administrative officials in North and around the school district are allowing teachers to submit trips, the students of North should hopefully before long travel outside of school for education and amusement.
