One of the most well known books with a great and intense plot has finally made its way to movie theaters. The Hunger Games has been scheduled to hit movie theaters on Friday March 23, 2012.
As the days grow closer to the midnight premier, many people are beginning to get hyped up about it. With everyone talking about the resemblance between the book characters and the movie characters, things are looking good. Almost every cast member is exactly what people all around expected the characters to look like as they were portrayed in Suzanne Collins’ novel.
With a solid cast featuring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, this movie is sure to be a great one. The film also stars Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Alexander Ludwig, and Amanda Stenberg.
In the book, the world that the cast lives in is a dystopia, which is a society that is controlled by the state. In this place, there are twelve districts, each having it’s own specialty.
Every year, a lottery is made up of everyone’s name from each district; from there two people are chosen to enter the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is an event where all the people chosen from each district are put into a chilling atmosphere where the contestants must fight to the death. Throughout the book, the cast is faced with many different and challenging tasks that have the ability to ultimately affect their whole life in the end.
Having challenging scenes and intense moments, the main question many are asking is “Will they be able to make the movie like the book without taking away from the original idea?”
