On our first trip to Surf Taco entailed several delicious dishes and allowed us to cross off about an eighth of our list.
For starters, a garlic shrimp burrito was purchased, packed with shredded cabbage, rice, beans, Pico de Gallo salsa and white cilantro sauce. It was proclaimed “delicious, but maybe needed a little more garlic and less sauce.”
Also the maverick burrito was purchased, with char-grilled chicken, rice, beans, jack and cheddar cheeses, lettuce, sour cream, and Pico de Gallo. This burrito was “alright, but too watery.”
A teriyaki chicken taco, which was “a good mix of eccentric flavors,” contained chicken marinated in teriyaki sauce, jack and cheddar cheeses, lettuce, pineapple, and Pico de Gallo salsa.
Another dish in our repertoir was the buffalo soldier burrito, lightly breaded chicken smothered in spicy buffalo sauce wrapped with rice, lettuce, Pico de Gallo and blue cheese dressing. It was described as “my favorite, the only dish I come here for.” Well, that’s about to change, considering we have 30 more items to eat off of the menu.
A taco salad was added to our list, with char-grilled chicken, warm black beans, rice, romaine, guacamole, sour cream, jack and cheddar cheeses, and Pico de Gallo in a crispy flour tortilla. It was proclaimed “epic, delicious, crispity-crunchity and heavenly guac-filled.”
Our final dish was the veggie taco, which was “delicious, of course, ’cause it’s Surf, but a little on the boring side,” had marinated portobella mushrooms, rice, beans, grilled peppers and onions, topped with jack and cheddar cheeses, lettuce, and Pico de Gallo.
Our first trip was ultimately eventful, and definitely delicious. If you’re feeling adventurous, send your surf taco pictures and comments to [email protected] today!
