Bruce Springsteen recently released his new song “We Take Care Of Our Own,” the first single from his upcoming album “Wrecking Ball.” Even though the song is titled “We Take Care Of Our Own,” it is about the exact opposite.
Springsteen comments about how in times of tragedy and disaster, Americans do anything but take care of struggling citizens. Springsteen once again showcases his talent for songwriting, using sarcasm to convey his frustrations about the issue.
Noticeably absent from the single is a saxophone solo by the “Big Man,” Clarence Clemons, who passed away in June. To fill the whole of the missing sax solo, Max Weinberg’s drums are much more prominent throughout the song.
“Wrecking Ball,” Springsteen’s 17th studio album, is scheduled for release on March 6 and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are touring the United States and Europe this summer.
