Tuesday January 10th, Superintendant Dr. William George came and visited Middletown High School North and spoke to a student audience in the library after school.
As an educator of 25 years, Dr. George really wanted to know not only what we thought about aspects of North academically, but also what students thought of our school.
Dr. George started by talking about our experience at school, and how he needed to hear the student’s side of things so he knew what it was like to attend High School North. There were many involved students who attended the meeting to ask questions about our school.
There were a variety of questions asked, questions about advanced placement classes, clubs being cut, even questions referring to bullying and what we were doing to stop it. All students received an answer and with each question Dr. George got a better idea of what life is like for a student attending North
When he was asked what his goal was by having this meeting, he responded by saying he wanted to reach the goals of all of our student body to show that we are doing all we can to benefit the students. In the words if the superintendent, “I want everyone to do what you want to do, and become what you want to become.”
Dr. George said he would like to have these meetings as frequently as every six weeks. Every student is welcome to come and will benefit from the knowledge of taking part in involvement of your school.
