For a scary movie, Paranormal Activity 3 was mediocre in its attempt to instill fear in the eyes of its audience.
Surprisingly, the third installment in the Paranormal Activity series was on par or better than the two previous installments of the series.
In the film, two young girls are being haunted by a spirit that they call “Toby,” while their mother’s boyfriend documents the strange activity he sees in the house. The ninety minute movie feels like four hours, as many of the thrills expected did not occur and left the audience unsatisfied.
Moreover, while watching the movie I would close my eyes in anticipation of a scary scene, but nothing would happen.
Although the movie was rated R, viewers might misleadingly expect the film to only be frightening; however the film was also filled with inappropriate content. Therefore I would not want to recommend this film to your little cousin or aunt.
Not a bloody or gory movie, the directors created fear through suspenseful scenes throughout the film which caused the audience to jump out of their seats during the climax.
All in all, it was a descent scary movie that lacked the necessary thrill that many classic movies in the same genre have.
