The man behind the scenes, David Guetta, recently released his album, rightfully titled, “Nothing But The Beat.” Featuring numerous artists including Nicki Minaj, Taio Cruz, Usher and many others, this CD exemplifies that you do not have to be the one singing in order to make a name for yourself.
With such huge names as those mentioned before in every single song, it is thought that the work of the CD’s “DJ” would go unnoticed; however, Guetta’s catchy rhythms and ever present beats are making him, not just the singers, even more well known.
From the first song on, the beats and other background music is very prominent; I’m not a huge fan of the overall lyrics in each of the songs, but a few including “Without You” featuring Usher and “Where Them Girls At” featuring Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj are catchy.
Filled entirely with danceable club rhythms, Guetta’s combination of hip-hop and R&B beats as well as lyrics make for an extremely popular list of potential hits. The mood and message of nearly every number is simple: the guys are “on the prowl,” and the women are defiant, which seems to be a popular theme for all music today.
A man filled with an uncommon sense of humility claiming he wants to remain out of the spotlight, David Guetta seems to have a bright future ahead of him. If he continues to work with these prominent names in the music industry, the fame he will acquire may force him into the spotlight, whether he likes it or not.
