On Friday and Saturday, November 22 and 23, Middletown High School North’s fall production of Little Women will take place at 7 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults, but students and seniors only pay $5 to see this incredible show in North’s auditorium.
Little Women tells the classic story, originally written by Louisa May Alcott, of the four March sisters, Jo (Molly Bartram), Meg (Annie Kissinger), Amy (Rylee Higgins) and Beth (Mia Portelli). With their father (Erik Mayer) away from home to fight in the Civil War and their mother (Ava Kinsella) being their sole caretaker, this 1860s story tells the tale of the sisters growing up and finding their own places in the world, while also maintaining their connection and love for each other. The play amplifies the importance of family and experiencing the coming of age ups and downs that so many go through in life, while also detailing a beautiful story of platonic and romantic love between Jo, Laurie (Colten Caruso) and Amy.
Mrs. Amanda Faria directs a fantastic show and Costume, Hair, and Makeup Director Mrs. Tara Mahoney, as well as Technical Crew Director Mr. Tom Smith, helped to bring the amazing show to life.
Mia Portelli, who plays the role of the talented Beth March, stated, “[Little Women] is so good and I’m so excited for people to see it!”
Overall, Little Women is a beautiful performance sharing the aspects of coming of age that are so relatable to all and the show is sure to be a hit. The amazing actors, set design, costumes and music all tie together to create this masterpiece and bring an important message to its audience.
